Cerca de 6.000 alumnos de 70 centros de secundaria en Cataluña han sustituido este curso los manuales clásicos por nuevos libros digitales. Sin embargo, la alarma ha saltado entre el nacionalismo catalán, ya que esta tecnología ofrece la posibilidad de elegir el idioma de los textos: catalán o castellano.
Tal como ha denunciado el diario Avui este jueves, ‘la opción bilingüe en los libros de texto rompe con una tradición que hasta ahora había permitido garantizar la preeminencia del catalán en los manuales’ escolares.
Sin embargo, la mayor parte de centros que se han acogido al proyecto de digitalización de las aulas impulsado por la consejería de Educación de la Generalidad han escogido la oferta de la editorial Digital Text, que elabora libros de texto digitales para toda España y cuyos textos están en catalán y en castellano.
Es en el momento de adquirir las licencias cuando los centros tenían la opción de comprar los contenidos solo en catalán o en bilingüe, como han optado algunos colegios, lo que ha despertado la preocupación entre los sectores más radicales del nacionalismo catalán, como ya lo habían advertido hace unos meses.
Los profesores vigilan
El departamento de Educación ha insistido en que “los centros escolares tienen muy claro que la lengua vehicular es el catalán“, y algunos directores de colegios, como Pep Castilla del IES Lluís de Peguera de Manresa -según ha recogido Avui-, han asegurado que ‘los profesores vigilan que los alumnos tengan abierto [únicamente] el acceso en catalán’ en los libros digitales durante las clases.
Sin embargo, concluye el diario Avui, ‘el control directo se pierde cuando los alumnos hacen los deberes en casa’, lo que ha provocado que ‘algunos profesores han empezado a mostrar cierta inquietud a las direcciones por el hecho de no disponer de ningún filtro que asegure la elección en catalán‘.

Actually I´m quite open to respecting different opinions from mine – but not all opinions are worthy of respect. And those that are based on xenophobia, racism, totalitarianism…are not worthy of respect. (by the way, you swear like a 10yr.old having a tantrum)
I forgot to ask you, cannon fodder, have you seen the new corruption scandal in Santa Coloma? I´m betting it´s just the tip of the iceberg. Corruption plus the scandalous wages that the politicians of Catalunya give themselves ( did you know that Montilla earns double what Zapatero earns, and that every member (there are 10) of the CAC earns more than Zapatero…) A very big incentive for isolating Catalunya, I´d say. If catalunya can be fooled into fighting imaginary enemies outside (read “Madrid”) there is less critical focus on what they are doing here, and less Competitian for their jobs – especially if they can divide the population of Catalunya from inside too, using language. We are then left with a very select club who share out the jobs (money, legal and not)Big fish in a small pond, is what we have here. Doesn´t it make you doubt just a little, cannon fodder?
By the way, the schools where Montilla, Mas etc have their kids educated are not just elitist schools. They are schools where catalan is only a subject in the curriculum. Given the fact that there are elitist schools here where catalan is a vehicular language, why have they not chosen these??? Doesn´t it make you doubt, just a little?
Another case of truth stranger than fiction. Last year the European Union was looking for a place to be the headquarters of it´s Science and Technology agency. San Cugat was not only in the running but was the clear favourite – and more so as time went on it was taken for granted that they would “win” the agency. The E.E. made 3 visits to catalunya meanwhile and reported that one of the requisites would be schooling for the children of their employees in English and Spanish. The Generalitat said there were such schools but they came here and discovered that this was not the case . So the Generalitat promised to set up a special school for them. They returned and found that this hadn´t been done either. That week the “winner” was announced, and the prize went to…..Budapest! This great disappointment was reported in small columns in our local newspapers, but they neglected to say why San Cugat had been passed over. The Generalitat has done us a great favour with this. Why do we need this agency of the European Union Españolista? We don´t need the PRESTIGE this would have given us, nor the KNOWLEDGE it would have brought, and we certainly don´t need the MONEY it would have brought here – after all Montilla et al are already doing very nicely, thank you very much.

Se trata de recuperar la lengua catalana y que no se dejen de usar muchos términos que están el peligro de extinción.
De la salud de l’aprenentatge en castellà ja se’n cuiden prou a les Castillas, lloc NATURAL de la llengua castellana, dita perversament ‘lengua española’. El que ha de fer el professor és un examen d’extens vocabulari català que els nanos s’hi cagarien.
És el català la llengua dels catalans i ningú mourà un dit per a ella excepte nosaltres; però m’entristeix d’allò més quan molta gent catalanoparlant es troba alienada totalment en castellà i ensinistrada perquè vagin a veure cinema en castellà i llegeixin best-sellers en una llengua NO vernàcula de Catalunya. Aquest fet rau en què hi ha una discriminació subtil contra el català en els mitjans de comunicació, sort en tenim que la vanguardia ha decidit treure una versió en català.
